Living in the Currituck Area

If you are looking for a more relaxed lifestyle, you’ll enjoy living in the Moyock and Currituck County, North Carolina area. In addition to lower taxes and great schools, there is a beauty and peacefulness that is hard to compare.

With it’s near proximity to the Virginia state line, many new residents relocate here from Chesapeake, Suffolk, Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Take a quick trip and hop over the Virginia state line to shop and dine at the nearby Edinburgh Commons area of Chesapeake. Harbourview in Suffolk is about 35 minutes away and you can get to MacArthur Center in downtown Norfolk in less than 30 minutes. Route 168/Chesapeake Expressway is fast and convenient, linking I-64 in Chesapeake to Currituck.

In the opposite direction, your close proximity to Currituck’s Outer Banks in North Carolina is like being on vacation year-round. Pick up some fresh fruit and vegetables at the various local farm stands. Stop at Corolla for a chance to glimpse the beautiful wild horses. Biking, camping and golf is popular, not to mention bird-watching, hiking and hang gliding. It goes without saying that water lovers are passionate about this area for boating, surfing, kiteboarding, fishing or crabbing.

On your way to Kitty Hawk to visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial, plan a sunset kayak tour or attend one of many outdoor music concerts during warmer weather. There are plenty of fun events, tournaments and festivals to attend. Soak up some local history by visiting the Currituck Beach Lighthouse or The Whalehead Club Historic House Museum.

Or…simply enjoy a relaxing day at the beach.
